Our Network Development Engineering team is responsible for their design, development and testing. We put into place robust project plans for all projects, resolve business issues, coordinate teams and manage budgets – all to meet current and future business requirements. Focused on the needs of our customers within the changing world of technology, we ensure all software and hardware products are interoperable and compatible with network standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops testing strategy for testing various platforms, routing and switching protocols

  • Develops real network topology simulations for testing Dell Open networking switches and routers

  • Develops and documents test plans, test cases, automate and execute and report results

  • Responsible for recreating the product defects and work with developers to find the resolutions

  • Responsible for reviewing the product requirement documents and provide feedback

  • Develop complex use case configuration environments which include network virtualization and modeling real world traffic patterns

  • Work independently with CTO, PLM Development and sustaining engineers to solve complex problems

Essential Requirements

  • Excellent understanding of Ethernet and TCP/IP protocol

  • Experience in testing multicast protocols like PIM-SM, IGMP, MLD and MSDP

  • Experience in testing routing protocols like OSPFv2, OSPFv3, ISIS, BFD and BGP

  • Experience with testing IPv6

  • Experience in testing switching protocols like STP, RSTP, MSTP and PVST

  • Experience in using Linux and VmWare

  • ·Experience in Data Center networking and topologies

  • Experience in using third party test equipment like IXIA, Spirent

  • Should have a strong understanding of Layer2/Layer3 network architectures

  • Ability to quickly understand system requirements and estimate efforts required

  • Hands on experience with test automation using scripting languages/tools such as TCL, Expect, Python, Perl

  • Ability to work with teams in multiple locations

  • Provide gap analysis to architecture and system engineering team

  • Strategize application and overall system test scenarios

  • Identify relevant third party tools/applications required to carry out the test

  • Monitor and report status on the progress

  • Cisco, Juniper certifications is an added advantage

  • BS with 12+ years or MS with 8+ years of experience or equivalent experience

  • CCIE is a plus
