DellEMC is looking for an exceptional and highly motivated Software Development Engineer to join our team to help to build, execute and deliver networking software stack for next generation network operating system. The position is in our Seattle location .

As a member of this team, you will get to play a key role in defining and implementing components that add value to an existing network stack. Provide key contributions that directly impact customer engagement and provide opportunities to be part of new cutting edge data center defining architectures.

This team uses the latest and greatest technology such as containers and works closely with on different layers of the networking stack. The ideal candidate should be able to research solutions with guidance and have a passion to work with code. Apply your knowledge of Data Center Technologies, Understanding of Server/Storage/Networking areas to build a world class solutions.

This position requires an accomplished Engineer who truly understands data center challenges especially in Networking and load balancing areas. The individual will be required to use multiple key technologies and applications, to create new software. The individual should thrive in a fast-paced environment, has an entrepreneurial spirit and has the ability and track-record of influencing and collaborating with others. Requirements:

The successful candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of experience in software development

  • Experience working in a networking and distributed systems environment

  • Solid Design and Development skills

  • Excellent communication and documentation capabilities

  • Experience in contributing to or maintaining of well-known open source projects and communities

  • Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, diagnostic skills

  • If not local, MUST be willing to relocate to Seattle area (relocation assistance will be provided)

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong experience and knowledge of Linux networking stack

  • Strong experience in C/C++ and Python

  • Switching and routing protocols (Layer 2, Layer 3, ACL, multicast), transport protocols (TCP/UDP), VxLAN

  • Deep understanding of overlay and underlay technologies

  • Working knowledge and experience with Docker

  • Deep understanding of one or more open switch APIs such as SAI, P4 runtime, OpenFlow etc.,

  • Hands on and working knowledge of Virtualization environments Hyper-V, Virtual box etc.,

  • Experience in tools such as Git, Jenkins, Ansible

  • Expertise debugging user level, multi-threaded systems.

  • UNIX Systems programming, data structures, OS internals (memory management, multi-threading, IPC, synchronization, etc.)

  • Experience in message driven architecture like RabbitMQ, Thrift etc.,
