Dell Senior Software Engineer - Tools and Automation in Seattle, Washington

Dell EMC Isilon is looking for an experienced and innovative Senior Engineer to join our Tools and Automation Organization.

The Tools and Automation Organization is providing infrastructure, tools, workflows automation to enable the engineering community to work at its best in a high pace environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the engineering organization

  • Orchestration, Deployment and Maintenance of critical infrastructure and services

  • Contributes to high level design specs, unit test plans and integration test plans.

  • Analyze and code complex modules, define data structures, and specify test tools.

  • Ability to generate technical requirements from business needs

  • Accountable for delivery of subsystem, anticipate issues and addresses proactively.

  • Contributes to the development and achievement of organizational goals and objectives

Qualifications

  • BS of Computer science (or equivalent)

  • 4+ years of experience in software development

  • Ability to deliver in appropriate development languages, Python & Perl are preferred

  • Proven DevOps culture

  • Automated deployment via configured management

  • Experience implementing Micro-services and RESTful APIs.

  • Experience with container and container orchestration technologies

  • Unix system administration fundamentals.

  • General knowledge and application of engineering concepts.

  • Well organized, responsible, and dedicated, with the ability to work on multiple projects.

  • Self-learning, able to learn new tools quickly and work in a fast evolving environment.

  • Sense of customer service, proactive

  • Excellent Cross Team Communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred

  • Demonstration of operational excellence in a demanding environment

  • Familiar with Distributed Systems concepts and design.

  • Previous work in CI / CD Build and Deployment Pipeline

  • Previous experience with virtualization and cloud

  • Previous open source experience
