Dell Director, Client Validation Engineering in Taipei, Taiwan

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Directs the efforts of others in the achievement of the strategic and operational objectives of the group.

  • Manages the hiring, staffing and maintenance of a diverse and effective workforce.

  • Responsible for career development/planning, performance and pay discussions of team members.

  • Responsible for representation of System Compatibility and Qualification Test on the development extended team (Engineering Development Process/Planning/Launch Phase).

  • Responsible for overseeing the execution and reviewing the results of Bring-up, Subsystem testing on new platforms and peripherals.

  • Responsible for overseeing the (Validation) execution and reviewing the results of Systems Compatibility testing of new or existing platforms, with new or existing and peripherals (Engineering Development Process/Implementation Phase).

  • Responsible for overseeing the execution and reviewing the results of Product Testing on new platforms and peripherals.

  • Responsible for overseeing the execution and reviewing the results of System Qualification testing of new or existing platforms, with new or existing peripherals (Engineering Development Process/ Implementation Phase).

  • Responsible for Functional and Compatibility Test participation on the Engineering Investigation Team to determine what new test methods and tools are required for new technologies.

  • Responsible for evaluating ODM, Partners, Suppliers. Develops new test methods and tools to enable Bring-up, Subsystem and Product Testing of new platform or peripherals technologies (Engineering Development Process/Profile Phase).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads the entire test engineering team and interacts with senior leaders and executives of other functional areas

  • Key client contact for escalated issues with outside vendors to complete objectives

  • Manages system test process and evaluates the system test process to determine if it meets the needs of the business Participates and leads business strategic planning sessions

  • Manages lower-level leaders

  • Consistently keeps up to date with industry and new areas within in test engineering.

  • Manages the planning, development and implementation of procedures for the testing and evaluation of standard and special devices.

  • Manages a team of engineers that are responsible for the development of all test plans and test tools to ensure functionality and compatibility for all of Dell’s products.

  • Specifies tests to be performed, compiles data, and makes recommendations for changes required in testing equipment procedures, manufacturing processes, new testing requirements and/or design of testing equipment. Recommends the purchase of test equipment.

  • Provides direction and guidance for operations, administration and results for a major department or multiple departments within a function or work area.

  • Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning.

  • Collaborates with subordinate leadership to set strategy and business objectives.

  • May influence the strategic and/or long-term focus for the function.

  • Provides leadership and direction through lower-level managers. - Implements tactical and strategic change through subordinate managers.

  • Undergraduate degree and 10+ years relevant experience or Graduate degree and 8+ years relevant experience.
