Engineering Project Manager

Manages Engineering programs, projects and initiatives affecting area goals and objectives. Drives the creation and management of global cross-functional leadership teams . Oversees multiple cross-functional teams, defining priorities and insuring allocation of resources. Maintains an awareness of industry trends and business conditions. Has a working knowledge of internal processes and practices to ensure the success of programs and initiatives.

What You'll Achieve

Manages Server Platform for assigned projects, or specific activities related to projects within given constraints of scope, schedule, budget, and quality through the duration of the project. The duties will include creating and executing product development schedule, tracking issues, risk management, communicating and interlocking engineering across all Global Development Teams. Conducts periodic reviews to ensure project is on track and conducts post-project reviews.

You Will:

  • Typically responsible for leading a defined project activity or module of a small project

  • Impact is within a specific component of a project or a subset/work stream of a project

  • Defines, allocates and monitors appropriate tasks within area of responsibility

  • Provides direction and guidance to project team, while making recommendations to senior management as necessary

  • Works on assignments where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making choices, recommendations, or decisions

  • Regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment on business matters

  • Assumes responsibility to improve service, efficiency and quality of work

  • Identifies priorities and resources relative to each initiative, project or program

  • Maintains awareness of trends, business conditions and internal process and practices impacting project/program(s)

Essential Requirements

  • BS/MS CS, Engineering or Business, 2 + years of relevant experience

  • Demonstrated ability to lead small project teams

  • Ability to track risk

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

  • Ability to lead, motivate and direct a workgroup

  • Intermediate communication skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Intermediate problem solving skills

  • Ability to work effectively with senior management

  • Detail oriented

  • PM Certification/training desired.
