Test Principal Engineer

When your products transform the way we live and work, nothing can be left to chance. Our Test Engineering team is in charge of the testing, evaluation and validation of all our servers. We’re a team of professional engineers responsible for the development of all test cases and test tools to ensure the functionality and compatibility of our products. We’re involved in the whole testing process from preparing test and diagnostic programs to recommending changes in testing equipment, procedures and designing new testing equipment.

What you’ll achieve

Own and drive understanding and implementing the customer usage models in test collateral. Participate in customer engagement activities such as customer visits, Demos, Lab Tours, and/or social media. Incorporate customer scenarios identified through such activities. Define and develop customer collateral: white papers, videos. Assist or author at least 1 white paper or video. Strong understanding and adherence of current processes and procedures; Identify and help implement 1 process improvement activity. ​Own and develop test strategies and test case coverage analysis based on the requirements for domain / product / technology.

You will:

  • Avoid test escapes by effective review of test cases, traceability.

  • Drive increasing automatable limits; contribute to roadmap for product/ component automation via identifying new automation opportunities and/or developing new automation.

  • Work with ODM’s / partners / vendors to integrate Dell test methodologies and support use of automation at ODM/technology partners, as needed.

  • Identify process improvements through cross-team collaboration with user-guide team, Program Management, Quality, and International product support team.

  • Collaborate with Development in areas such as automation hooks, design/code reviews, early defect detection etc.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor degree.

  • At least 10 years of Test engineering and project management experience. PC/server product experience preferred.

  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills

  • Fluent English.
