Dell Corporate Strategy Associate - Remote US in Texas

Team Description

The Dell Corporate Strategy team is a specialized group that advises our CEO and executive leadership team on driving, assessing and prioritizing the long-term strategic direction and growth for the company across its portfolio of existing and new offerings. The team works directly with the C-level leadership team to drive critical strategic, operational and business development initiatives, as well as shape the overall, long-range strategy for the business. Focus areas include:

Thought leadership on the future state of the industry (e.g., economics of the edge) and potential impact to Dell’s overall strategy

Counsel to senior executives on “needle moving” growth drivers, strategic acquisitions and partnerships, portfolio optimization, etc in pursuit of growth

Incubation of select new businesses that will constitute future growth engines for Dell

Description of Role

Building on our team’s successes and continued growth, we are currently looking to hire a strategy Team Lead. This role is ideal for someone with a blend of management consulting and operational/functional execution responsibilities. Responsible for managing and driving teams to navigate complex problem solving and bring actionable solutions and recommendations forward. This role uses fact-based analysis to spot industry shifts and understands DTs’ sources of competitive advantage as a foundation for clear, differentiated strategies. This role requires someone skilled at asking the right questions, scrutinizing critical assumptions, and ensuring strategy meetings and interactions are truly strategic with the right people in the room.

Our top candidate will have e xceptionally strong personal initiative, good business instincts, and a comfortability with ambiguity, strong oral and written communication skills and ability to formulate and deliver insights around complex business problems in a thoughtful and persuasive manner, and a passion for technology!

Our offices are located in Round Rock TX, Palo Alto CA, and Hopkinton MA with support for remote work options. This role is highly visible, offering significant exposure to Dell Technologies Executive Vice Presidents and C-level leadership, allowing you to build lasting relationships and deep industry expertise. Our team is also a unique entry point for those who eventually seek opportunities to transition to key management roles within Dell Technologies.

Responsibilities:

Lead key strategy projects and orchestrate workstreams across the Corporate Strategy team; own overall efforts (i.e., full accountability of projects), including project plans, recommendations, impact, and syndication across groups

Act as a thought leader on Dell’s strategy, a trusted advisor to VPs+, and a domain expert in select areas over time.

Demonstrated hypothesis-driven, problem-solving orientation with exceptional ability to create structured quantitative and qualitative analyses; sound business judgement and problem framing

Develop deep business knowledge, experiences, and subject matter expertise from Dell and industry to develop rich insights; be perceived as a thought leader/contributor within Dell on specific topics

Build consensus and effectively influence senior-level stakeholders

Develop a comprehensive understanding of the entire portfolio Dell business in order to propose and analyze strategic decisions impacting multiple divisions.

Understand and stay current on tech industry trends, competitive landscape and internal product development efforts.

Qualifications:

2-3 years post-MBA management consulting experience at a top firm

Master’s degree in Business Administration/related field and/or Engineering degree or equivalent with a strong academic background (Top-tier undergraduate and MBA credentials)

Demonstrated hypothesis-driven problem-solving orientation with exceptional ability to create structured quantitative and qualitative analyses

A track record of successfully negotiating across a broad range of potentially conflicted attributes including business, product, technology, branding, channels, and third-party contributions to arrive at the optimum strategy

Strong financial/business modeling and analysis skills

Deep understanding of software and business technology markets, trends, and dynamics

Ability to manage multiple simultaneous high-priority projects (often including project management of cross-functional v-teams and strategy analysts / junior managers)

Desired qualifications

Acquisition Deal experience (pre-venture integration work)

Track record for growing and mentoring junior talent, as well as leading team-based engagements

Experience in a technical or software industry/space
