Dell’s Trade Compliance organization provides subject matter expertise consulting and tactical execution supporting Dell’s Global supply chain. This position reports to the Global Export Compliance lead within Dell’s Global Trade Compliance organization. The successful candidate will work closely with regional compliance teams, legal, and various stakeholders to support U.S. export compliance worldwide.
Subject Matter Expert responsible for export compliance activities to ensure compliance with EAR, ITAR, OFAC and other applicable U.S. Export compliance regulations globally
Serve as a global escalation point to provide guidance to reginal teams and business stakeholders on restricted party screening, license determination, classification, and other export related areas
Identify compliance gaps, develop, and implement export compliance processes and procedures to drive process improvements to mitigate risk
Lead large complex cross-functional projects across all lines of business and for all policies, processes, and system changes with regards to RPL screening and license determination
Collaborate with and support Trade Compliance Counsel in various trade legal matters, including conducting internal investigations, applying for export licenses, developing processes for ensuring compliance with license requirements, and implementing response to regulatory actions (e.g., new designated entities, changes to embargoes, etc.)
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related discipline, and 10years experience in a similar role and scale
Working knowledge of applicable U.S. Commerce Department, Treasury Department, and State Department trade regulations, including the EAR, OFAC designations, ITAR, and experience with export controls such as Deemed Exports, Sanctions, Anti-boycott, Restricted Party Screening
Ability to interpret government regulations and apply business knowledge to develop appropriate compliance actions.
Experience with License Applications, Commodity Classification Requests, product classification, screening applications such as Oracle GTM and Descartes as well as with conducting reviews of companies and individuals for restricted parties and sanctions compliance
Effective communication skills and an ability to explain complex, technical regulations to diverse audiences
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple priorities collaborating across multiple functions and global regions, while delivering results and meeting strict deadlines
