Dell Product Owner Engineer in Texas

As a Development manager/ Product Owner you will be working with a global team responsible for serviceability features for Dell’s client platforms. This include features such as diagnostics, auto-heal and self-help. You will be responsible for creating and prioritizing product requirements, working with the architects on the future strategies and co-ordinate release schedule. As a DM you are responsible for the delivery of products within budget, schedule and quality guidelines. You will work with the team to develop, maintain, and communicate, current development schedules, timelines and development status.

As the DM/PO for Dell Serviceability Software team (includes Diagnostics, self-heal and auto recovery) the candidate will:

  • Drive front-end (Ideate, Incubate) and early execution phases (Concept, Define, Plan)

  • Drive front-end architecture, POCs, design and planning with technology partners and internal teams (CTO, PdM, EDG, Architecture, Engineering, etc.)

  • Participate in design and development of end-to-end solutions and architectures. Prepare/contribute to technical documents used internally and externally

  • Represent serviceability team in core team and provide accurate summary or detailed project status as needed to CT and senior management

  • Work closely with other DMs to review/prioritize requirements and deliverables. Oversee overall program execution and step in to resolve gaps/conflicts

  • Drive Agile Sprint development. Run/participate in scrum meetings (daily standup, biweekly Sprint planning, etc.)

  • Track feature deliverables and bug fixes with technology partners, and internal Software teams

  • Review and provide feedback on technical, functional, and user documentation

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 8+ years relevant experience in large scale software development

  • Experience working in a Matrix environment with multiple stakeholders

  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, including an ability to communicate across business areas

  • Organizational and multitasking skills with ability to balance competing priorities.

  • Proven success in creatively solving problems and refining processes and procedures

  • Motivated self-starter, proactive and action-oriented

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience with UEFI/firmware, application and/or operating system security principals

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, as well as with using the Atlassian suite of tools (BitBucket, Bamboo, Jira and Confluence)
