Job Family Summary :

Responsible for the design and development activities associated with methods for validating hardware systems and broader solutions. Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and test tools, and completes validation specifications and procedures for new and changes to existing products. Plans the labor, schedules, equipment, and software required for validating and evaluating our solutions. Uses current product performance information and other means to gauge customer usage to the product development teams.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Develops and documents test plans and test cases for newly developed or current hardware and solutionsproducts

  • Develops test tools and automation for in usetesting

  • Directs a test team during test execution, and reports results to development engineers andleadership

  • Creates test plans that include resource requirements, schedule assumptions and scope based on inputs from the Development andMarketing

  • Provides the Engineering Manager with aHigh LevelTest Strategy and comprehensive test plan for new hardware and solutions products Oversees the execution and reports the results of product validation on new hardware and solutions products

  • Interfaces with external validation partners to develop comprehensive test plans and tests coverage across multiple testorganizations

  • Manages and reports on test deliverables and test execution from validation partners.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Counsels Test Engineers on current technology test methods and tools.

  • Mentorsnew engineers in other test groups

  • In specific fields of expertise, conducts technical training for test engineers and technicians within the test group

  • Works across test groups to establish end-to-end test planning and execution.

  • Works across test groups to reduce test redundancy and close gaps in test coverage.

  • Works with internal teams and test partners to define comprehensive end-toendtest coverage.

  • Manages test partners throughout all phases of test projects

  • Develops and executes test automationscripts


  • Advanced understanding of hardware and software system architecture

  • Advanced understanding of hardware and software interactions, and able to apply this understanding to resolve issues.

  • Expert in tools, languages and operating systems used by the test team

  • Ability to coach and mentor junior team members

  • Ability to present data and reports to leadershipteam

Education and Experience:

Typically requires 8+ years ofrelated experience with aBachelor’sdegree; or 6+ years with a Master’s degree; or 3+ years with a PhD; or equivalent experience.
