UX Engineer

Join us as a UI Software Engineer on our Digital Experience Software Engineering team in Round Rock, Texas ( Remote) to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact.

What you’ll achieve

As a UI Software Engineer, you will work on a high volume, customer facing, ecommerce ecosystem with annual revenue over 90 billion. You will create engaging and intriguing customer experiences using the latest in modern design and technologies. You will collaborate cross-functionally with business users, project managers, designers, and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions.

You will:

  • Create engaging and intriguing customer experiences using the latest in modern design and technologies

  • Fine-tune experiences to provide best-in-class performance and accessibility

  • Elevate technology and consistently apply best practices for continuous improvement

  • Excel in a fast-paced agile environment, in small groups and individually, delivering on multiple priorities with little supervision

  • Be responsible for and fully own the products you create with your team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Play the key role in overlapping the two worlds on design and engineering.

  • Converting UI designs into working responsive HTML layouts.

  • Coding CSS based websites that are W3C compliant.

  • Creating animations in HTML5/CSS3 with JavaScript.

  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use.

  • Implementing complex jQuery functionalities.

  • Working on cross browser compatibility for developed code.

  • Optimizing the application/website for maximum speed, scalability and SEO.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proficient working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap.

  • Experience in modern JavaScript such as ES6, Promises, Testing, Closures etc, including Javascript unit test frameworks such as (Jasmine, Karma, Jest)

  • Deeper understanding of Chrome Dev Tools. Should understand nuances of the timeline for perf monitoring and UI optimizations.

  • Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1, AA standard)

  • Understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS. Experience with runners/bundlers such as Gulp, Grunt, Webpack.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Knowledge of .Net and cloud-based application nice to have.

  • Knowledge in frameworks such as React , AngularJS etc and good understanding of the basics of these frameworks and their life cycles nice to have
