Key Responsibilities

The Delivery Specialist Backup Administrator will be responsible for the day to day activities of managing customer’s backup environments. Using VPN to remotely access the customer’s environment, the successful candidate with provide daily Incident, Problem and change management of the backup environment. On call support for out of hours P1 incidents and out of hour change requests will also be required. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with existing team members supporting the backup environments and liaise closely with the customer.

  • Provides operational support to ensure the availability of the environment

  • Attends daily Operations calls

  • Develops Standard Operating Procedures when required

  • Engages with account architects around the continuous evolvement of the backup environment

  • Develops and provides reporting and metrics on overall health of the environment

  • Mentors and guides junior team members of the team

Essential Requirements

  • -Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 5 years' experience working in a similar role with a proven track record.

  • -Deep knowledge of Backup & Restore technologies: NetWorker, Avamar, Data Domain

  • -Ability to quickly learn new technologies as required

  • -Ability to work in a high-pressure environment using excellent communication skills

  • -Participation in customer meetings and weekly operations meetings with the remote teams.

  • -Occasional travel may be required and on call will be required

  • -English skills and ability to work in a Global environment.

Desirable requirements

  • -Good scripting knowledge such as Perl, Python, Bash.

  • -ITIL Process knowledge.

  • -Experience in VMware administration.
