Software Engineer - ETL Data Engineering

What you’ll achieve

As an ETL Data Engineer, you will participate in the entire development lifecycle starting with research, new development, modification, security, correction of errors and maintenance, bringing in your own ideas and suggestions to test and improve existing software. The position will focus on establishing, managing and enhancing Data Governance framework and tools basis the customer’s business goals, needs and general business environment creating software solutions. The Engineer serves as a point of escalation for governance, data quality and protection issues and will work closely with Dev Team, business & IT stakeholders to improve the quality of value of core data assets, as well as support strategic enterprise-level requirements.

You will:

  • Contribute to the design, development and implementation of test strategies for complex software products and systems/for storage products and systems

  • Acts as subject-matter expert on business processes of assigned area Interfaces with business areas to provide solutions and tools to build and strengthen business processes.

  • Works with customers to define business requirements while designing, developing and testing moderately complex knowledge capture processes and engineer elaborate workflows, search capabilities and measurement approaches.

  • Build strong relationships across all functional domains; influence the requirements and process change roadmaps and plan and execute deliverables against roadmaps tied to critical business outcomes for personalization and privacy

  • Create enterprise policies on data management, data quality, and tool usage; derive plans to enforce policies through process change or technology

Essential Requirements

  • Strong technical skills (SQL, ETL, Teradata, GreenPlum, Tableau, Power BI, BobJ, Streamsets) required and proven experience in data analytics is required

  • Experience in creating reports, score cards, and presentations

  • Experience in automation tool (preferably Control-M, python scripting, AI/ML, etc.,)

  • Ability to code/debug and guide others to code/debug flexible, scalable and complex programs, using either written or verbal design specifications

  • Expert Experience with multiple programming languages, scipts, databases, operating systems, tools and Data Governance/Quality Platforms.

  • Strong understanding of intersystem dependency around primary applications and multiple secondary applications

Desirable Requirements

  • Knowledge of Informatica, Collibra and other data management tools and capabilities

  • Ability to learn new tools, languages and operating systems with some training and on-the-job experience
