Showcasing excellence and innovation at every stage, the Product Owner is responsible for leading the definition and prioritization of work within our Azure Stack product development team. The product owner is a critical lynchpin in bridging the communications between Product Management and Engineering. He/she takes the responsibility for understanding product requirements and articulating them to the cross-functional teams responsible for delivering the product. Ensures backlog excellence at both the Program Backlog and Team Backlog levels. Creates and communicates stories that detail the required work to ensure the team deliver on the product vision and strategy as defended by the Product team. Works to ensure clarity, alignment, and coordination across the entire product development team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creating and maintaining a prioritized product backlog(Program Backlog) in conjunction and in alignment with Product Management, Engineering, and Architecture. ​

  • Creating and maintaining a prioritized team backlog in conjunction with Agile teams.

  • Write informative new user stories based on defined user personas, specifying acceptance criteria for each user story

  • Host regular grooming sessions to help the team understand the asks and order the product backlog

  • Plan work across sprints to determine engineering planning dates

  • Work closely with product managers to ensure there is a single voice from the product team

  • Ensure alignment between product management ask and engineering execution and development

Essential Requirements

  • 8+ years experience in Product Development as a Product Owner

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills

  • Expertise in Enterprise Agile methodologies, especially SCRUM and Kanban

  • Experience liaising between an Engineering and Product Management team

  • Strong technical aptitude and interest

  • Strong business acumen and ability to understand and collaborate on business and product strategy

  • Ability and interest in developing deep product knowledge on a technical data center product

  • Able to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic environment

  • Skilled leading, collaborating and working with geographically distributed teams

Desirable Requirements

  • Knowledge of Jira and Confluence will be an advantage

  • Experience working on multiple programs simultaneously

  • Cross-team negotiation skills

  • Innovative with an innate ability to problem solve

  • Able to influence others to achieve results​
