Senior Software Engineering Manager

The Software Engineering team delivers next-generation software application enhancements and new products for a changing world. What you’ll achieve

As a Senior Software Engineering Manager, you will direct the activities of a software development function for software application enhancements and new products. You will work with internal and external partners on the analysis, design, programming, debugging and modification of computer programs.

You will:

• Participate in long-range planning and development of operational goals and engineering specifications

• Contribute to the modification, development and implementation of company practices and policies that affect subordinate employees

• Create schedules and work plans and be accountable for managing a budget

• Provide innovative solutions to complex problems and communicate progress toward project/program goals

• Liaise with senior management to report on project and program milestones and to present project needs

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a talented Software Engineering organization to deliver innovative, enterprise quality products built on a foundation of architectural and engineering excellence.

  • Experience leading a strong SW development team with Java, Python, Glang, Ansible and C/C++ development/debug skills.

  • Experience with cloud technologies like Kubernetes, Containers, Microservices.

  • Strong Software development process, product development lifecycle, agile development, Dev OPS CI/CD, packaging and release domain skills.

  • Provide leadership and be a mentor in engineering best practices, including agile development methodologies, cloud ready architectures, server architectures, and design patterns.

  • Responsible for ensuring product features, quality, stability and performance are industry best in class. This includes accountability for resource performance and capacity planning.

  • Lead the implementation of rigorous engineering excellence process and schedule conformance.

  • Detail oriented, responsible for solving highly technical and complex problems for several programs and projects. Demonstrate strong drive for results.

  • Communicate status to executive and xLOB teams, translate vision/strategy to staff/technologists. Drive fiscal year functional and business goals for org including budget planning.

  • Passionate about the customer experience, providing a great experience for the users (cNPS).

  • Hire critical talent. manage, grow and enable talent in org. Create a highly engaged teams (eNPS)

  • Candidate will be responsible for managing the design, implementation, integration, debug, build, program schedule, validation and sustaining software applications targeting reuse, cloud enablement, simplification, and continuous quality improvements.

Essential Requirements :

  • 10 years of relevant work experience leading engineering teams and most of this focused Enterprise Application Software Development. At least 5 years of which in a people management roles with proven ability to attract, retain & develop key and diverse talent.

  • Define MVP product with excellent global teaming with marketing teams, deliver test automation in collaboration with validation teams, work schedule with program management, factory teams

  • Demonstrated transformation of team charters, release cycle times, Experience in an Agile and waterfall development environment

  • Strong technical product leadership, and communication skills. High employee engagement survey scores. Ability to lead multiple simultaneous product development efforts and programs.

  • Experience with source control, Jenkins build, test tools/cases, code coverage automation, Experience with Open Source, licenses, vendor royalty negotiations

Desirable Requirements

  • Bachelor's/MS degree in computer/electrical engineering, computer science, or related discipline. Masters in Business Administration a plus.

  • Innovation (Patents authored, other), Transitioned programs between worldwide development centers
