Consultant, Revenue Recognition Accounting

Working in finance at Dell Technologies, you’ll play an integral role helping us adhere to standards that keep us running smoothly. Our Revenue Recognition Accounting team takes the necessary steps required to ensure compliance with our revenue recognition accounting process and regularly reviews invoices for accuracy.

What you’ll achieve

As a Consultant, you will be responsible for supporting team members in the technical research and interpretation of authoritative guidance along with drafting of relevant position papers in support of large complex deal review.

You will develop and deliver technical curriculum training for team members supporting EMEA & APJC regions with respect to our growing product offerings and related application of ASC842 Lease Accounting.

You will:

  • Coordinate and work closely with external and internal auditors to ensure timely completion of quarterly review and annual audit procedures.

  • Act as a consultant to a variety of business division stakeholders, highlighting key risks and expected revenue recognition outcomes based on the proposed contract structure and terms.

  • Document revenue recognition positions on large complex deals, in accordance with company policy and appropriate accounting standards.

Essential Requirements

  • Revenue recognition experience in the interpretation and application of ASC606 Revenue from Contracts with Customers & ASC842 Lease Accounting.

  • Accounting experience in a multi-country/currency environment.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with proven track record of leading and influencing across all levels of the organization and across functions.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience developing and delivering inhouse technical training an advantage

  • Comfortable drafting technical position papers / memos
