We are currently seeking an Advisor, Risk Management to join our Security & Resiliency team. The ideal candidate will leverage technical and people skills, strategically and tactically, to help the team maintain an effective and clear business-oriented picture of all third-party vendor risk at Dell which impacts, or is impacted by, security.

As a Risk Management Senior Advisor, you will be responsible to support strategic and tactical activities of the team, as well as support the day-to-day operations. You will work with third-party vendor sponsors and risk owners to help assess third-party vendor risk, understand vendor security and compliance posture, and drive risk treatment activities. You will also participate in security-related risk assessments and will contribute to strategic initiatives to advance Dell’s security risk capabilities.


  • Coordination third-party vendor risk assessments, evaluating controls as driven by business context.

  • Provide expertise and consulting on risk to help manage risk to an acceptable level.

  • Produce third-party risk assessment reports and metrics to drive decisions for Dell sponsors.

  • Verify and validate the effectiveness of risk responses from Dell as well as third-party vendors.

  • Produce quarterly views of security risk to inform executives’ risk position visibility.

  • Conduct deep dive ad hoc risk assessments as necessary on topics as determined by risk assessments, or in response to management requests.

  • Provide awareness by conducting training on the Third-Party Risk Management Framework.


  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, and 5+ years of full-time relevant business experience

  • Strong knowledge or third-party risk assessments, with 1-3 years experience

  • Demonstrated comfort with ambiguity, and ability to produce results even with incomplete information

  • In-depth knowledge of security and IT terminology, concepts, and practices

  • Skill in collecting and analyzing complex data, evaluating information and systems, and drawing logical conclusions

  • Demonstrated meaningful contribution or leadership of process improvement initiatives

  • Verifiable experience in planning and project management, and in maintaining composure under pressure while meeting deadlines

  • Skill in effective verbal and written communications, including active listening, resolving conflicts, and presenting

  • Developing and maintaining productive relationships through individual contacts and group meetings

  • Ensuring understanding of technical matters by nontechnical decision makers

  • Experience prioritizing daily effort by operational and project objectives

  • Managing multiple assignments and processes

  • Working autonomously with limited supervision and guidance

  • Independent determination of approach to projects

  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and prevent potential problems

  • Experience working with diverse, global teams using virtual communication tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience with GRC and reporting tools, Archer and Tableau preferred

  • Experience with risk quantification

  • Industry certifications such as: CRISC, CISSP, CISA, CISM, CGEIT

  • Documented knowledge of or “hands on” experience working with generally accepted IT audit standards, statements and practices, IT, security and control practices, and risk management concepts
