Senior Analyst - Commodity Management Electronics Disposition

What this opportunity offers:

This role has broad exposure to Asset disposition operations and management across multiple return streams within Dell, each of whom lead our 2030 Advancing Sustainability Moonshot Goals. This challenging and diverse category provides an interesting and varied opportunity and is part the Dell global indirect procurement organization. This global team has procurement responsibility for a wide variety of categories and offers category rotation career opportunities longer term.

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

  • Strong Passion for Sustainability: showcased through academic or professional experience in topics including but not limited to circular economy, sustainable materials, sustainable sourcing and reverse logistics

  • Strong Category ownership: deep and meaningful understanding of Category use-cases, spend / revenue, and trends across Dell’s business units, and desire for continuous improvement against key Category metrics.

  • Active partnership with business stakeholders: credibility with business counterparts both through procurement excellence and subject-matter expertise with early involvement, thought leadership, and a “seat at the table” in critical Category decision-making. Strong collaboration with and focus on support to the business partners.

  • Drive for industry leading value within Dell Reuse Hierarchy: best-in-industry value creation around reuse, refurbish, repair and recycle methodologies through sourcing strategy, negotiation, contract excellence, and continuous improvement.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports the development and execution of the Electronics Disposition sourcing strategy

  • Gain deep understanding of internal spend / value recovery and closed loop / sustainable sourcing industry trends

  • Support creation of multi-year vision to maximize takeback volume / value recovery in the category for Dell

  • Execute vision through key strategic initiatives in support of our moonshot goals

  • Support sourcing activities for the Dell return streams organization

  • Advise business partners on potential suppliers, projected costs, supply-side risk and opportunities

  • Lead sourcing decisions where applicable

  • Support and execute negotiations with supplier (develop negotiation plan, coordinate internal positioning during negotiations, lead communication with suppliers)

  • Complete contract activities in line with legal and corporate guidelines

  • Manage Supplier Relationships for Dell Electronic Disposition providers

  • Lead supplier performance management process (i.e. EBRs, QBRs)

  • Support Global Edisp lead on escalations for all areas of conflict with the key providers

  • Ensure providers are in compliance with all contractual requirements, as well as corporate, industry, and regional regulations. Similarly, ensure Dell compliance to contractual requirements

  • Advise internal business partners and sourcing teams on potential areas of expand or rationalize with regards to the provider network

Essential Requirements

  • 3-5 years relevant work experience or Bachelor’s degree in related field of study

  • Procurement experience in areas of negotiations, contracting, stakeholder and supplier management

  • Passion for Sustainability and a corporations’ impact on broader society

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Data visualization and interpretation skills

  • E-sourcing experience (i.e. Ariba)

Desirable Requirements

  • Exposure to closed loop supply chains and understanding complexities of reverse logistics within a large corporation

  • Multi-lingual: English + Spanish preferred

  • Exposure to global regulations on e-waste disposition: EPEAT, R2, e-Stewards, EN50625, ISO 90001, 140001 and 45001
