Dell Product Development Manager ( Webcam) in Taiwan

Product Development Management (Webcam)

The Client Peripherals engineering is responsible for product development of keyboard, mice, headsets, speakerphones, webcams among many other products. The Development Manager is responsible for the engineering development of these peripherals to deliver best hardware and experience to our customers. The candidate is preferably a technology enthusiast who understand requirements of Video/Audio conferencing peripherals and who has good technical grounding in both hardware and software development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Owns engineering development of the product. Works directly with program manager, marketing, service, operations, quality, and finance to bring the product(s) to market.

  • Responsible for managing the technology lifecycle of new products, features or enhancements from conceptualization, requirements gathering, product specifications, implementation review and release

  • Evaluates technical options and provide engineering response to the marketing product requirements document by interlocking with relevant engineering extended teams

  • Consolidates all engineering specifications for RFQ

  • Work closely and guides the activities of the ODM for the product.

  • Acts as primary engineering point of contact to coordinate development and testing which includes reliability and compatibility tests, to successfully release new products meeting all features, with quality, on time and within budget.

  • Drives the initial triage, debug, and resolution of engineering defects including field quality issues.

  • Supports sustaining activities including responds to requests for post development product enhancements and validation of new key components for production products.

  • Understand supplier’s technology and product roadmaps

Requirements

  • Understand Analog/Digital circuit design

  • Understand key industry standard electrical bus interfaces, including PCIe, USB, Type-C (including Power Delivery) and video interfaces such as DP and HDMI

  • Knowledge in digital camera systems key component such as sensor, lens and ISP

  • Understand embedded systems and IQ (Image Quality) development with various ISP systems

  • Understand the image processing pipeline (sensor correction, scaling, Gamma correction, Noise Reduction, Sharpness, Brightness, Contrast and Saturation)

  • Understand image quality metrics and 3A (Auto Exposure, Auto White Balance and Auto Focus) feedback loop

  • Understand the quantitative IQ tuning and subjective real-life user environment

  • Experience with independent lab (DXOmark) measurements and IQ tuning by technology partners

  • Understand the requirements to meet MS Teams and Zoom certifications

  • Understand Software Test cycles.

  • Experience in design for quality, reliability, product safety and EMC for high volume products

  • Degree in Engineering or Computer Science

  • Minimum 10+ years working experience in imaging processing and video industry
