Dell Senior SSD Application Engineer in Taiwan

What you’ll achieve

Responsible for regularly commuting to Hsinchu for interaction with contract manufacturer. Assists with problem recreation and failure analysis of system level issues. Capable of reading C and Python code, understanding code behavior, and modifying code to resolve underlying issues. Utilizing a variety of test equipment, diagnostic tools and techniques used in problem resolution. Accurately documents: issues, triage procedures and problem resolutions in fine detail.

You will:

  • Assists with building failure analysis knowledge database/repository.

  • Assists with generating configuration files for a variety of part numbers. Applies technical expertise using standard operating and diagnostic protocols to resolve system level issues.

  • Assists with equipment auditing and test station maintenance

  • Performs Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (GR&R) studies on controlled tests processes. Effectively communicates procedural and technical issues to immediate team in a fast paced and customer critical environment through a variety of mediums

  • Performs data analysis and process monitoring. Monitors manufacturing, mechanical, and component-level test process flows for quality assurance, and take necessary action to resolve unexpected shifts. Maintains a “closed-loop" communication style assuring all stakeholders are notified of ongoing issues and problem resolution status

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor or master in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with 5 years related experience in a professional role

  • Proficient with C and Python programming languages

  • Industry experience with debugging, and NAND/flash-based storage technologies (SSDs) preferred. Solid understanding of PCIe & NVMe

  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and interpret tolerances

  • Ability to efficiently generate, track and update multiple issues in JIRA dashboards

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience with Git.

  • Familiarity with risk analysis methodologies or with statistics, sampling, and process control
