Data Analytics Workload Architect (Systems Engineer)
The Dell Data Analytics Workload Architect (DA WA) is a technical resource focused on earning the technical win for Dell EMC. The goal is to maximize revenue & margin of Dell EMC Data Analytics Solutions (e.g. Hadoop, No-SQL, Splunk). In this way, we enable customers achieve their business goals for Digital Transformation. You will be required to understand trade-offs between on-premises and cloud implementations. Likewise your designs must consider deployment and integration routines.
You will be expected to keep up to date on the latest technology and how they are implemented. This includes Hadoop ecosystem (including Spark, Flink, Kafka, NiFi), the particular demands around Unstructured Data Analytics (indexing, metadata management, data-tiering), Data Modeling; Data Governance; Splunk core architecture and key No-SQL instances (Couchbase, MongoDB Cassandra). In addition we need expertise with upcoming Machine Learning technology (frameworks like TensorFlow, Caffe, SparkMLlib).
Note – you are not expected to know all of these on day one – you may be great at just one of these (Hadoop preferred) – most importantly you must be willing to learn.
Likewise you need to be well versed in general infrastructure products: servers; storage; networking; data protection; and systems management. Dell partners with Data Analytic-related companies for software, hardware and integration services. You will be expected to smartly weave these third party capabilities into the proposal.
It is the responsibility of the Data Analytics Workload Architect to work closely core account teams, channel partners and our Technical Alliances to drive the business. While a portion of compensation is variable, it is NOT the responsibility of any Workload Architect to drive pipeline activities in the way that most sales-oriented resource are.
Discover customer requirements for tailoring solutions with an understanding of their ability to execute
Articulate Dell EMC value proposition and differentiation to persuade customers on both business and technical merit while satisfying their requirements
Architect / Orchestrate solution proposal in close partnership with all Dell EMC & partner resources
Cultivate relationships at all levels within the customer organization & continuously build social capital
Enable Dell EMC partners: System Integrators, Value-Added Resellers; and Technology Partners
Fluency in English & Vietnamese – including an excellent command of English to be able to work with customers across the APJ region
5+ years’ experience in delivering modern data analytics solutions: Hadoop; No-SQL; Splunk and experience in presales related roles, or working for a systems integrator
Technical knowledge of certified server, storage & networking along with application workload performance characterization and optimization.
Superb professional skills: communication from highest level vision to the lowest level; and the ability to program manage a diverse set of resources to deliver a solution
Excellent enterprise selling skills: building relationships; working through objections; tying technology back to business challenges
Comfortable leading cross-functional virtual teams
Must live close to a Major Airport and be willing to travel up to 50%
BA/BS or post graduate degree from accredited college or university in a related field of study, or work experience equivalent
